Product Description

1. Product Overview

Nomay Double-Sided Tissue Tape, also known as Double-Coated Tissue Tape or Tissue Mounting Tape, combines a white tissue paper carrier with water-based adhesive on both sides. Two separate release paper liners protect the two adhesive faces.

This version is intended for room-temperature bonding operations where each adhesive surface needs to remain covered until its application stage. It allows the two bonding faces to be exposed separately during indoor assembly.

2. Product Construction

Layer structure:

Release Paper / Water-Based Adhesive / Tissue Paper Carrier / Water-Based Adhesive / Release Paper.

The central tissue carrier supports two adhesive coatings. Each outer adhesive face has its own removable release paper liner.

This is a double-sided adhesive product with two separate liners. The additional liner changes handling and protection; it does not by itself establish higher adhesion or greater load capacity.

Both liners are removed during application. The finished joint contains adhesive, tissue carrier and adhesive between the two bonded materials.

3. Backing & Adhesive System

Carrier: Tissue paper.
Carrier color: White.
Adhesive system: Water-based adhesive.
Adhesive sides: Double-sided.
Release liners: Two separate release paper liners.

Each adhesive face must be compatible with its contact material. The two liners allow the adhesive surfaces to remain independently covered before bonding.

Where the assembly sequence requires a particular liner to release first, specify the release requirements for each side. Do not assume that the two liners have identical release behavior.

Water-based adhesive does not automatically establish water solubility or water activation.

4. Available Specifications

Nomay tissue-tape family references:

Thickness options: 0.07 mm and 0.08 mm.
Common thickness: 0.07 mm.
Width range: 0.1–1080 mm.
Roll length range: 1–3000 m.
Master roll length reference: 3000 m.
Carrier color: White.
Peel strength reference: 600–1000 g.
Operating temperature category: Room temperature.

These are family references rather than independently established specifications for every two-liner construction.

Specify finished adhesive-coated tape thickness excluding both liners. Where necessary, define the thickness and release characteristics of each liner separately.

The additional liner affects overall supplied thickness and roll dimensions. Select width, roll length, liner construction and handling requirements as one configuration.

5. Key Features & Buyer Benefits

Separate protection for both adhesive faces:
Keeps each face covered until its respective application stage.

Controlled exposure sequence:
Allows operators to remove the first liner, attach one component and uncover the second face later.

Tissue-supported double-sided adhesive:
Provides an internal bonding layer between compatible materials.

Reduced handling contact with adhesive:
The liners provide covered surfaces for handling before application; exposed adhesive should still be kept free from contact and contamination.

Custom slit dimensions:
Help match the bonding area and assembly requirements.

White carrier:
Provides a defined paper-carrier appearance within the joint.

6. Application Procedure

Identify both bonding materials and establish which adhesive face will be applied first. Prepare clean, dry surfaces.

Remove the first release paper liner while keeping the second liner in place. Apply the exposed adhesive face to the first material with even pressure.

When ready for final assembly, remove the second liner without disturbing the first bond. Align the second material and apply uniform pressure.

Avoid touching exposed adhesive or trapping liner fragments, wrinkles or contamination inside the joint.

Test liner removal and bonding with representative materials. Check whether removing the second liner lifts the tape from the first material.

Evaluate the finished bond under the intended temperature, humidity, loading and service duration. Store unused material protected from moisture, heat, sunlight and contamination according to the selected grade's instructions.

7. Application Industries

Relevant selection areas include indoor product assembly, paper converting, packaging production and stationery manufacturing.

The two-liner format is particularly relevant where the process requires separate protection and controlled exposure of the adhesive faces.

Potential material combinations include compatible paper and card components. Other surfaces require grade selection and bonding trials with the actual materials.

8. Application Scenarios / Problems Solved

Keeping both adhesive faces covered before assembly:
Each face has its own liner, allowing the material to be handled before either bonding surface is exposed.

Completing a joint in two stages:
Remove one liner for the first attachment and keep the other in place until the next assembly step.

Reducing unintended adhesive contact during positioning:
Retain the appropriate liner while handling and aligning the covered material.

Controlling the order of liner removal:
Specify release requirements where a defined sequence is necessary to prevent the tape from lifting or transferring incorrectly.

Selecting a concealed bonding layer:
Position the tissue-supported adhesive within a compatible joint where visible mechanical fastening is not required.

9. Performance & Operating Conditions

This product family is positioned for room-temperature use. The presence of two liners does not create an elevated-temperature rating.

The enterprise family peel reference is 600–1000 g. It does not establish identical values for both adhesive sides or every two-liner grade.

For comparison, define the adhesive side, substrate, specimen width, peel angle, speed and dwell time. Liner release force is a different property from adhesive peel strength on the bonded material.

Evaluate the completed joint under its intended loading and environmental conditions. Assess the liner removal sequence as part of the assembly trial.

Neither liner remains in the final bond. Additional liner protection should not be interpreted as additional reinforcement of the finished joint.

10. Comparison & Selection Guide

Compared with the single-liner version:
This version provides a separate paper liner on each adhesive face. Two liner-removal steps are required before the joint is complete.

Compared with single-sided tissue tape:
This product provides two adhesive contact faces for joining two materials.

Compared with a film-carrier double-sided tape:
The internal carrier is tissue paper. Select according to handling, dimensional requirements and the materials being bonded.

Choose the two-liner format when the workflow requires both faces to remain separately covered before application.

Choose the single-liner format when direct application of the exposed face after unwinding better matches the production sequence.

Select by adhesive performance and process requirements, not by liner count alone.

11. Technical Notes + FAQ

Q: How many release paper liners are included?
A: Two separate liners, with one protecting each adhesive face.

Q: Are there still only two adhesive layers?
A: Yes. The construction contains two adhesive coatings and one central tissue carrier. The liners are removable protective layers.

Q: Must both liners be removed?
A: Yes. Each liner must be removed before its adhesive face contacts the corresponding bonding material.

Q: Does the two-liner version have stronger adhesion?
A: Not because of the liner count alone. Adhesion depends on the selected adhesive construction, materials and test conditions.

Q: Can the liners have different release requirements?
A: Specify the required removal sequence and release behavior when selecting the construction.

Q: Does finished tape thickness include the liners?
A: Specify finished adhesive-coated thickness excluding both liners. Define total supplied thickness separately if needed for processing.

Q: Can custom widths and roll lengths be requested?
A: Yes. Provide the complete dimensional and liner requirements for supply assessment.

Q: Can this be used for heated processing?
A: This listing is positioned for room-temperature use. A heated process requires a separately established operating specification.
