Product Description
1. Product Overview
Nomay Single-Sided Tissue Tape, also known as Single-Coated Tissue Tape or Tissue Paper Adhesive Tape, combines a white tissue paper backing with water-based adhesive on one side.
It is intended for room-temperature applications requiring a paper-backed adhesive strip applied to a contact surface. The opposite tissue face is not an adhesive bonding surface.
2. Product Construction
Construction: Tissue paper backing with water-based adhesive on one side.
The adhesive side contacts the selected material. The opposite paper face remains exposed after application.
This single-sided construction is different from double-sided tissue mounting tape. It does not provide two adhesive surfaces for bonding materials on opposite faces.
Any release material or reverse-side treatment should be identified in the selected supply specification.
3. Backing & Adhesive System
Backing: Tissue paper.
Adhesive: Water-based adhesive.
Adhesive side: Single-sided.
Backing color: White.
The paper backing carries the adhesive and forms the exposed face after application. Select the grade according to the contact surface and the required handling, adhesion and removal behavior.
Water-based describes the adhesive category. It does not establish water solubility, water activation or resistance to moisture.
4. Available Specifications
Product family reference:
Listed thickness options: 0.07 mm and 0.08 mm.
Listed width range: 0.1–1080 mm.
Listed roll length range: 1–3000 m.
Listed master roll length: 3000 m.
Backing color: White.
Operating temperature category: Room temperature.
These figures are Nomay tissue-tape family references. Confirm the selected single-sided construction when specifying finished thickness and roll dimensions.
Specify whether thickness includes the adhesive coating. Width, thickness, roll length and tolerances must be selected together.
5. Key Features & Buyer Benefits
Single adhesive surface:
Provides attachment to one contact surface while leaving the tissue face exposed.
Tissue paper backing:
Provides a paper-based face for applications that require this carrier material.
White appearance:
Offers a defined backing color for visible placement or incorporation into a product.
Custom slit widths:
Help match the required contact area and reduce unnecessary trimming.
Selectable roll format:
Allows dimensions to be matched to manual handling or production equipment.
Room-temperature positioning:
Helps distinguish this product from high-temperature masking and heat-processing tapes.
6. Application Procedure
Identify the contact material and whether the tape will remain in place or be removed.
Prepare a clean, dry surface. Remove loose dust and fibers using a method that does not damage the material.
Apply the adhesive face to the surface. If a release material is supplied with the selected grade, remove it according to the application instructions.
Press evenly across the contact area. Avoid excessive stretching, wrinkles and contamination.
Test adhesion and any intended removal on the actual material. For delicate paper or printed surfaces, check fiber lifting, marking and finish damage.
Store rolls dry and protected from contamination, direct sunlight and excessive heat. Follow the selected grade's shelf-life instructions.
7. Application Industries
Relevant selection areas include paper handling, paper converting, stationery production and packaging-related operations requiring a single-sided paper-backed adhesive strip.
The specific task should be identified during selection. Supply the contact material, placement method and required service duration.
High-temperature masking and two-sided mounting are not the operating functions of this single-sided room-temperature construction.
8. Application Scenarios / Problems Solved
Attaching a tissue-backed strip to one surface:
The adhesive face secures the strip while the paper face remains exposed.
Selecting a paper-facing material:
Use this construction where a tissue paper face is required instead of a film or woven-cloth backing.
Matching a narrow contact path:
Specify slit width and tolerance to select a strip suited to the intended placement area.
Controlling applied thickness:
Match the complete adhesive-coated thickness to the available space and handling requirements.
Managing removal from delicate surfaces:
Where removal is required, evaluate the actual paper, coating or finish before choosing the grade.
9. Performance & Operating Conditions
The enterprise operating category is room temperature. No numerical high-temperature rating is assigned to this product.
Nomay's tissue-tape family sheet lists a peel value of 600–1000 g. This is a family reference; the selected single-sided grade requires a defined test method for quantitative comparison.
Specify test surface, specimen width, peel angle, speed and dwell time when establishing acceptance requirements.
Adhesion and removal depend on surface finish, contamination, moisture, pressure and service duration. Assess these conditions using representative samples.
Do not infer waterproof performance or outdoor durability from the use of water-based adhesive.
10. Comparison & Selection Guide
Compared with double-sided tissue tape:
This product has adhesive on one side. Choose double-sided construction when adhesive contact is required on both faces to join two materials.
Compared with cotton cloth tape:
This product uses tissue paper rather than woven cotton reinforcement.
Compared with film-backed tape:
Select according to the required exposed face, handling characteristics and contact conditions.
Compared with high-temperature masking tape:
This product is positioned for room-temperature use. Heated masking requires a separately specified tape.
Choose the single-sided construction when one adhesive contact surface and an exposed tissue face match the task.
11. Technical Notes + FAQ
Q: Is the tape adhesive on both sides?
A: No. This product has water-based adhesive on one side only.
Q: What remains exposed after application?
A: The tissue paper face remains exposed.
Q: Is it the same as cotton cloth tape?
A: No. The backing is tissue paper rather than woven cotton cloth.
Q: Can custom roll dimensions be requested?
A: Yes. Provide the required finished thickness, width, roll length and tolerances.
Q: Does water-based adhesive require wetting?
A: Do not add water unless the selected grade's instructions specifically require it.
Q: Can it be removed without damaging paper?
A: Removal depends on adhesion and the paper's fiber strength or coating. Test the actual surface if removal is required.
Q: Does the product include release paper?
A: Release-paper supply is not established for this single-sided listing. Identify any release-material requirement when selecting the supply format.
Q: Can it be used at elevated temperatures?
A: The enterprise operating category is room temperature. Select a separately rated product for heated processes.
